This box, with sides of Cherry and top and bottom of White Ash, is of the Type B design; thinner walls and stouter construction appropriate for mechanical pencils, pens and other shorter objects (will not accommodate No. 2 pencils). The top slides out to reveal the compartment, and the bottom is “captured” instead of glued to help with seasonal wood movement. The short ends of the interior are lined with soft, black material to guard against blunting, and the box is raised on four small rubber feet. Finished with Danish Oil.
