I am currently offering lessons via Skype to anyone interesting in learning more about the craft of composition. Though my own focus is on choral music, I am more than willing to give help and advice on any project you may bring to the table, whether it be simple songwriting or complex orchestral composition. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a lesson time, or to ask any questions you may have about lessons.
Having travelled an enormous amount in recent years, I am no stranger to having to schedule around time zone differences. I have taught students at home and abroad, in person and via Skype - wherever you are, we can find a time that suits you!
My lesson fee is currently $75. The process is simple, as follows...
1. You send me your work no less than 24 hours before our given lesson time. Preferably this will take the form of a PDF score (Finale file is acceptable) and a recording of some kind (if no live recording is available, a midi recording will do just fine - so long as it is in .mp3 format or something similar).
2. I review your work and annotate the PDF with suggestions for changes and further reading/listening (if applicable), in addition to providing a separate, written list of potential changes. This is one of the great benefits of teaching composition via Skype - you get written feedback in addition to verbal discussion.
3. We discuss your work in a private Skype session lasting 45 minutes to 1 hour. We can also discuss career issues such as publishing, promotion and marketing if you so desire during this time. This is your time, you can ask anything!
